Male infertility contributes to about 40% of infertility cases. Causes include low sperm count, poor motility, varicocele, hormonal issues, or genetic factors. Many cases respond to medication, surgery, or assisted reproduction.
Inability to conceive for over 12 months · Sexual dysfunction · Pain or swelling in the testicle (varicocele) · Low semen volume · Personal history of mumps or testicular trauma
Semen analysis (twice, 2–4 weeks apart), hormone profile (testosterone, FSH, LH, prolactin), scrotal ultrasound, genetic testing if azoospermia.
Treatment depends on cause — varicocelectomy for varicocele, hormonal therapy for hormonal issues, lifestyle changes, IUI or ICSI in IVF for severe cases. Sperm retrieval (TESA/Micro-TESE) for azoospermia.
Doctor consult, hospital admission, insurance paperwork, surgery, post-op follow-up — your care manager handles everything.
